Adobe Coloring Book

Chapter Ten

Color along with us as we serve up new illustrations that you can print or finish with your favorite Adobe apps. Each week this spring, the Adobe Coloring Book will feature coloring pages created by some of our favorite artists.

We asked this week’s artists to be inspired by places and spaces. You can download a PDF to print, a PSD to color in Photoshop or Adobe Fresco, or a JPEG to color in another app of your choice. Keep calm and color on—and when you’re finished, share your colorful creations with us on social media with the hashtag #AdobeColoringBook.

Instructions for opening a PSD file in Adobe Fresco: 

 

1. Launch Fresco.

2. Click on the Home icon to open the Home screen.

3. Tap on Import And Open, and select the Photoshop file.

Danielle Coke

Danielle Coke is an illustrator, social justice advocate, and entrepreneur who makes art designed to encourage faith, inspire justice, and guide others through loving their neighbors well. Her illustrations aim to make complex issues more digestible and provide practical ways to help others make a difference in their spheres of influence. She also runs a social media agency called So Happy Social, where she helps positive, mission-based brands use social media for good. When she's not drawing, you can find her watching a Disney movie, making music, or laughing as hard as she can.

DABSMYLA

Australian husband and wife visual artists DABSMYLA employ a shared design language that dictates subject matter, positioning, color theory, and perspective. With this established framework and unspoken set of rules—strengthened by more than a decade of working together simultaneously—their singular goal is to tell an expansive story that is wholly unique to their own experiences. There is nothing random or erroneous in DABSMYLA’s work; it’s planned and executed with the precision of a diamond heist and with the charm of a Technicolor world. DABSMYLA have exhibited their artwork and have painted countless large-scale outdoor murals around the globe, and in 2009 they decided to make the move to Los Angeles, where they have since made their home. They draw on the energy and beauty of southern California, from their time spent together outdoors exploring unseen forces, powers, and intangibles in the world around us.

Sha’an d’Anthes 

Sha’an d’Anthes is an illustrator, artist, and author from Sydney, Australia, whose vibrant and joyful illustrations are appreciated by adults and children alike. Over the past few years Sha’an has welcomed her audience into her studio with warm enthusiasm by documenting her day-to-day work as an illustrator and publishing those videos to YouTube via her Studio Vlogs. Her debut picturebook, Zoom, was published in 2017 by Hachette Australia and will soon be followed by Bandits (to be released in September 2020). About her page for the Adobe Coloring Book, she says, “My work often exists in a world of its own, so when I began to think about where I wanted my illustration to take me on a lazy afternoon, I knew just the place! As someone who has hay fever, I would never actually be able to stay comfortably in a place like this, but I imagined myself getting out of the city and staying in a cabin in this field of flowers for the weekend.”

Chella Man

Being deaf, genderqueer, transmasculine, Chinese, and Jewish, Chella Man found that he didn’t have role models to look up to, so he decided to be his own representation. This motto, “Be your own representation,” would become a pillar of his teachings. Since leaving high school as a junior to attend college early, he has given a TEDx talk at 19 years old; sold paintings internationally; written for Condé Naste’s first queer publication, Them; launched a radically inclusive clothing line in collaboration with Opening Ceremony; signed as the first deaf and transmasculine model with IMG Models; and was cast as a superhero on DC Universe and Warner Brothers’ Titans. Man’s visual art exhibits the exploration of binaries. Literally, his art tends to exist between realism and abstraction, while incorporating revelations he has made through navigating other binaries such as gender, sexuality, and disability. He hopes to continue pushing the boundaries of what it means to be accessible, inclusive, and equal in this world.

Dave Werner

Dave Werner is a senior experience designer for the Emmy Award–winning Character Animator team at Adobe. His past projects include the portfolio website Okaydave, indie video game Atmosphir, and Extraneous Lyrics video series. He posts regular cartoons, music videos, and tutorials to his Okay Samurai YouTube channel, garnering over 9 million views. Dave's work has been featured by Wired, The Verge, Entertainment Weekly, TechCrunch, Kotaku, College Humor, and Sesame Street. He is a frequent presenter and instructor at creative-industry conferences such as Adobe MAX, SXSW, NAB and IBC. About his illustration for the Adobe Coloring Book, he says, “I have always loved treehouses—they combine the beauty of nature with the creativity of humans. I didn’t have a set plan when I started drawing this—I just started with the trunk and kept adding stuff until I felt it was full enough!”

Muhammed Sajid 

Muhammed Sajid is an artist from Calicut, Kerala, India, who now makes his home in Bangalore, where he works as a creative designer. About his work, he says, “The things I imagine in my head don’t exist or aren’t real, so I’m compelled to create them the best way that I see it.” In his work, he explores multiple styles, incorporating natural elements, cultural inspirations, architectural elements, and some surrealness. His favorite medium is poster color on paper, but he typically works digitally. “Art helps me speak to the world through my fingers,” he says, “and I feel it is a good medium to explain or talk about things we cannot literally talk about.”... About his creation for the Adobe Coloring Book, he says, “It’s a city that finds serenity amidst the chaos. A city that never sleeps, and that welcomes thousands of new dreamers every day with open arms. A city of stark contrasts that captures the imagination of souls from different walks of life. Whatever be the situation, it keeps moving, because that’s the Spirit of Mumbai, Aamchi Mumbai!”
