Lauren Martin is an illustrator and musician from New York City whose work focuses on finding humor and optimism in the small things. When she isn’t illustrating, she calls upon what she learned while pursuing her degree in textile and surface design to make her own clothes with custom prints.

Use Adobe Illustrator to customize the phone calendars Martin designed and embellish them with her cheerful digital stickers from the Creative Cloud Library she shared.

Explore patterns.

Martin’s love of patterns in textile design carries over to her digital creations. Try your hand at seamless patterns with the Pattern Maker (Object > Pattern > Make). Try different settings and save the patterns you like to your swatches.

Play with color (and play again).

The Recolor Artwork tool gives you lots of ways to try new color palettes. First select your artwork and choose Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork. Then move the color handles around to see what happens. If you love a color in another image, click it with the eyedropper from the Color Theme Picker to see how it affects your graphic.

For more details on this fun tool, follow the Recolor your artwork guide.

Add on-the-go flair.

Add custom wallpaper to your phone with your own variation of Martin’s calendars. Decorate and recolor a calendar template, export the artwork, send it to your phone, and set it as your background.

Or engage with your followers by adding some quirky personality to your story. Save individual graphics to your phone’s camera roll, start an Instagram story, switch to your camera roll, copy an image, and tap the Add Sticker pop-up back in Instagram.
