RESOURCES

Note: Project files included with this tutorial are for practice purposes only.

Using the Memphis design library, experiment with color, texture and depth. Changing these background elements can make your product placements look pro.

Step 1: Isolate the structure.

Use the Pen, or another selection tool, to mark a path around a subject that you want to place onto a new background.

To use the path we made from the Memphis design structure, click the Paths tab (Window > Paths) in the Layers panel.

Step 2: Prepare the path.

Select Structure Path, then click Load Paths as a Selection button.

Step 3: Hide the studio.

In the Layers panel, select the Structure layer and then click the Mask button to hide the background.

Step 4: Try different backdrops.

Make the Background Replacement layer visible, expand it, and then cycle through the available wall textures.
