Try some of these techniques.
Create a branch.
Most snowflakes have six branches. Begin by drawing the first branch with the Pen tool (P).
Round off the ends.
Using the Selection tool (V), select all of your lines. In the Properties panel, select Stroke and choose the rounded cap style.
Fill out your snowflake.
With your branch selected, use Radial Repeat to instantly create five more identical branches. The slider on the side lets you add or subtract instances. Follow the same steps again to add another, shorter set of branches.
Adjust the proportion.
With the Selection tool, drag the second set of branches on top of the first. Then, drag the widget outward from the center. This will both increase the radius and position the shorter branches between the longer ones.
Complete your snowflake.
Using the Ellipse tool (L), create a circle just big enough to meet the inside points of all the branches.
Embellish your design.
Take advantage of Yiwen’s library of assets to complete your card. Just hold the Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) key while dragging a graphic from the library to the artboard. That way you can still edit it — even after adding it to your layout.
Grab some holiday treats.
