Then click Open in app above to open the file with a variety of header designs. Choose the one that offers the style and layout you like. Use the tips below to learn how to add new imagery to showcase your product or service.
STEP 1/4
Add your own details.
Customize a template with new text, colors, and graphics. Then export the final design following the tips from Free web header templates: Text-based designs.
STEP 2/4
Place a new image.
Open the Layers panel (Window > Layers), select the layer with the design you like, then drag an image from your computer.
STEP 3/4
Show the best part.
Drag the new image layer in the Layers panel to position it within the clipping shape. Use the Selection tool to resize the image or move it around.
STEP 4/4
Take it further with new shapes.
Create a new shape for the image with a clipping mask. To do this, draw with the Shape tool (press and hold to see the shape options), or refer to Free web header templates: Colorful shape designs to learn how to create organic shapes.
Make sure the shape layer is above the image layer, select both layers, and then choose Object > Clipping Mask > Make.

Andrew Harner is an artist/designer, musician and outdoor enthusiast. The Southern California native spent his early career designing for brands in the action sports industry, leading to a long stint as an art director at Patagonia.
