How to quickly expand an image.

Tell a bigger story with Generative Expand.

 

Extend any image in a couple clicks with Generative Expand in Adobe Photoshop.

Expand the scene.

Select the Crop tool and hold Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) as you drag the handle to enlarge the canvas. In the Contextual Task Bar, click Generate to blend the extended background.

 

Pro tip: When you select the Crop tool, you can choose a preset ratio from the options bar at the top of the screen.

Pick your favorite.

Cycle through the results in the Variations section of the Properties panel and select the one you like best. If you decide later that you prefer a different option, select the generative layer to see the variations again.

 

Pro tip: To see more variations, modify the text prompt and click Generate again.

Export and share.

Choose File > Export > Export As. Then choose JPG, adjust the size if needed, and click Export.
